Biography

Nicole Novotny Smith is a third generation Wyomingite and resident of Cheyenne, WY.  She is a graduate of Cheyenne East High School and the University of Wyoming where she triple-majored in Political Science, Economics and Spanish earning two Bachelor's degrees and a Master's degree in Public Administration.  Nicole is a proud alumna of the Delta Delta Delta Fraternity and was the first program manager for the University's Safe Ride Program, a program developed and designed to give students a means of transportation throughout Laramie, Wyoming.

Ms. Novotny Smith has served the State of Wyoming since 1998, working for the University of Wyoming part-time during her college studies and moving on to full-time public service positions in 2004.  Nicole's career includes comprehensive work in legislative affairs, public policy evaluation,  public program management, policy analysis, aggregate data reporting, higher education and workforce education programs, regulatory enforcement and affairs, and executive management.  In 2021, Nicole shifted her career focus to the software industry, working in industry compliance, key account management, program management, and product development. In 2023, Nicole returned to the real estate industry, taking the helm as CEO of the Wyoming RELATORS organization.

During her free time, Ms. Novotny Smith enjoys writing poetry and volunteering in her community.  She has served on several government and philanthropic boards, including the Rocky Mountain Chapter of the National Scleroderma Foundation, Girls on the Run Wyoming, the Wyoming Public Employees Association Board, the Cheyenne Planning Commission, the Cheyenne Board of Adjustment, and the Cheyenne Schools Foundation.  Nicole is a graduate of the prestigious Leadership Wyoming Program and was the 2008 Greater Cheyenne Chamber of Commerce Athena Protege Award Recipient.
